PSK card replaces OLF card

By the establishment of the PSK (Petroleumsindustriens Senter for Kvalitetssikring av Kompetanse or Competence Register and Quality Assurance), it was decided to introduce a new PSK card which will replace the old OLF card. The new PSK card has adopted new technology, which provides a more robust card that will last for the entire working career in the petroleum industry, as opposed to the OLF card that had to be renewed every four year.

What does the card contain?
The PSK card displays the expertise of the card holder. When a new course is completed, the card will be automatically updated. The new card holds the card number, the name of the card holder and his/her address. Each card has a unique identity, with a username and a password. Cardholders have access to their own information and are able to edit this. When it's time for a repetition of one or more courses, the cardholder will receive a text message or an e-mail.

Who will receive this card?
Anyone who follows the "Basic safety and emergency training" or the refresher course will receive the PSK- card when the course is completed. Other companies involved with providing courses that are recorded in the PSK database, can also issue the PSK-card. In this case, the card must be ordered and paid for by an approved Course Provider.

How will the change between the OLF card and the PSK card be pursued?
Course member are offered the new PSK card when entering a course at a centre that offers safety training. During the transition period, PSK will also record those who should have the PSK-card when arriving at a helicopter terminal.
