Falck has created a fully functioning autonomous welding training solution designed to be fully mobile and rapidly deployable in urban as well as remote locations. Like Falck's proven success, the well known Mobile Training Unit (MTU), Falck's new invention, can be easily and quickly deployed all over the world to suit the needs of clients. Falck WMTU (Welding Mobile Training Unit) is the official term for Falck's new innovative welding training equipment. It is - simply put - a welding school in a container. "We feel that this is a concept that has been needed for a long time. Welding schools are generally hard to come by in remote locations and many companies simply cannot afford to send their welders to some expensive faraway located welding school. It seemed obvious to design a mobile training unit", says Torben Korsgaard, Director of Global Sales and Marketing at Falck. The WMTU has found a sizeable deal of inspiration in Falck Alford's experience and background in the patented safe welding enclosure system, Hazardous Atmospheric Zone Telemetry (HAZTEC). One main difference, obviously, is that HAZTEC is a functional service for clients while the WMTU is designed for training. "It looks like Venezuela is the first place that we'll send our unit. When we came up with the idea of the unit, we were aiming mostly at emerging countries but in all actuality it could be used everywhere outside of Scandinavia, which has a government supported skills training system, It appears as if we might get clients from the US as well and in general we believe that the versatility of this invention makes it useful in a variety of places all over the world," says Torben Korsgaard.
