September 2009: The start of the second pilot "Basic Course for Offshore Windfarm Training" held at Falck Nutec Den Oever, the Netherlands, was a success. The first pilot training was organized in order to have our Windskill course approved, the aim of the second pilot training was to improve the lesson plans. The course covers a variety of topics, theory & practical training, providing a substantial overview of wind energy, first aid, fire fighting, boat transfer, sea survival and optional to the course the HUET (Helicopter underwater escape training) module. A group of 11 delegates from different countries, who are specialized in the wind farm industry, joined this training. The overwhelming support for adding this course and the feedback received from the delegates were positive, not only regarding the contents of the course but also involving compliments to the professional staff who were responsible for the training. With a few changes and recommendations we are able to improve an even more extensive, dedicated course for the Wind Energy Industry.
